The first thing you need to know about the Nice bus station (gare routiere) is that it doesn't exist! Yes, once upon a time there was a bus station but it was closed in January 2011 until further notice. A brand new bus station is being built near the airport but it's completion could be years away. So, how to find your bus? The Lignes d'Azur website is a good place to start looking for local buses as it will have all the latest changes. Most of the buses that run along the coast (Monaco, Cannes, Antibes) leave from an assortment of stops near the former Gare Routiere. Click the picture below for a larger version:
International buses (Eurolines) leave from the Gare Lindburgh, near the airport. Buses to ski stations (Isola, Valberg) leave from the train station. Still confused? Go directly to the former bus station which will be staffed by someone who can sort you out and sell tickets. (see map above)
